52 Weeks of Dating with FREE Planner

Dating is an integral part of any serious relationship. My husband and I have been married for just under 3 years and it has been the best three years our lives. We love spending time together and being in each other’s presence, but sometimes we find ourselves in a place where we spend time together, but it’s not really QUALITY TIME

To maintain a healthy and fun relationship, we need to make an effort to spend some quality time together, on a weekly basis.

Because both my hubby and I, are not your typical “romantics” and rarely plan for anything in advance, especially date nights, we don’t get to experience the full benefit of what we have to offer each other. The few times that we did plan, it was so magical and memorable, plus we also had way more fun.

So, this year we decided that things will be different. Different how? By making a commitment with ourselves and each other to have 52 planned (and scheduled) date nights, each with a different theme or activity. Although we are not completely eliminating the thought of being spontaneous, it is important for us to make date nights a priority and stick to the plan.

Before we get started with the fun part, you and your spouse need to make a commitment to each other to have 52 DIFFERENT date nights, throughout the course of a year. While making the commitment, you can also list some of the benefits that this challenge will have in your relationship.

It will help to keep you motivated and focused.

Getting to know each other better. Creating a bond of trust and safety.
Expressing your creative side. Falling in love, all over again.
Creating a meaningful connection. Learning to have fun.
Creating memories together. Creating a more intimate relationship.

Those are just a few to mention, this list can go on forever. Who doesn’t want to have a fantastic relationship with their spouse? Now, the fun can begin…

If you want to do this challenge properly, you will need a plan of action. To help you get started on your journey, I created a step-by-step manual for your first date with a FREE planning sheet.

Perfect, now that you know where to start, just go for it…

{Side note: a year is a very long time, so it’s not necessary to plan out your whole year in advance. Unexpected things can happen, so take it month to month. This must be fun and exciting, not stressful and overwhelming. Planning is part of the fun, so remember to enjoy it}.

Our dating journey has already started at the beginning of the year. For our very first date of the challenge, we went to this great movie themed village, called Pretville. It’s a 50’s inspired theme and they even have a Diner, where you can have delicious milkshakes, so that’s what we did. We had so much fun. Here are some pictures…

That’s it for now. This post is part of a series called 52 Weeks of Dating My Husband and I will be doing bi-weekly updates on our progress. I will also share great tips, fun freebies and creative ideas, which you can use for your year of dating.
