 # ONE – LAUGH MORE OFTEN

This one might seem obvious, but sometimes life can get too serious. I would know because I am a very serious person, but the moment I let myself go, I experience a sense of happiness and pleasure like no other. Having a good laugh is not only good tummy exercise, it also releases chemicals in your body that increases your overall mood and makes you feel less anxious about life. This year try to humor in life and just laugh more often.

# TWO – TAKE MORE PICTURES

If there is one thing I have learned in life, it’s that you cannot take enough pictures. Looking at old pictures instantly reminds you of that specific moment in time, it brings back memories that might have otherwise been forgotten. To make this year great, go out and take a few pictures of that family trip to the zoo or when you are having a game night or even when you are just enjoying a nice cup of coffee/tea. Make it count…

# THREE – PRACTICE A HOBBY THAT YOU LOVE

This one is really fun because there are so many ways to enjoy a hobby. A hobby is all about something that inspires you, which you can do for fun and share with others. The best part is, the list of possibilities is endless. Most of us already have hobbies, but we do not practice them as often as we would like, so this year make the time and enjoy the results. Reading and building {REALLY BIG} puzzles is two of my favorite things to do. What is yours?

# FOUR – SPEND MORE TIME WITH PEOPLE YOU LOVE

This one can be a bit tricky because it is so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life. It is essential to be more intentional with our relationships, with our spouses, family, and friends. Make time for your loved ones by scheduling an appointment with them, arrange a coffee date, have a meal together or go do something thing. Making memories is what count.

# FIVE – TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF

This one is a biggie! Think about the last time you actually spent alone time with yourself, if you can’t remember a time, it might be a good idea to schedule one now. Take 10 minutes a day and truly reflect on your life, what makes you happy, what changes you would like to make, where you are now. The moment we start thinking about these questions, we get to know ourselves better.
