The Kindness Project with Free Printable

Have you ever experienced that feeling of someone just doing something nice for you, without expecting anything in return? I am sure that if you reflect back on your life, you will be able to recall several such special moments. One random act of kindness can go a long way, even if it’s from a stranger.


One such moment I will never forget, was the night I drove home from my fiance (now my husband) and my car just broke down in the middle of the road. It was pitch black and raining. My hubby was 20 minutes away, there I was scared and alone… 

To my surprise, a few minutes later, this young couple pulled up behind me and warmly offered to stay with me until my husband arrived. We had a nice chat and the guy tried to see if he could find the problem. I have never met these people before, yet they took the time to ensure the safety of a person that they don’t even know.


The ultimate definition of kindness – doing something selfless, planned or unplanned, for another person without hesitation or expecting something in return. This concept is so simple, but yet so overlooked in today busy life. Money doesn’t need to be an obstacle to displaying kindness. A simple act can go a long way.


  • Placing a motivational sticky note on a colleague’s desk, to get them through the day.
  • Giving the cashier a big smile and asking them how their day has been so far.
  • Helping your friends move house or doing renovations.
  • Volunteering at a charitable organization.
  • Spending time with shelter animals.

There are so many ways in which we can display and practice kindness, every single day. We must never underestimate the power of kindness. Even the smallest effort, can change the course of a person’s life. If that couple didn’t take the time to wait with me, for my husband to arrive, I would have had a whole different experience.

The kindness project is aimed to help us step out of our comfort zone and intentionally doing something kind for someone else. As a part of my 26 before 27 challenge, I want to display 26 intentional acts of kindness, throughout the year, to show how simple it is.

# ONE – Send an encouraging message to a friend.
# TWO – Pay for someone’s groceries.
# THREE – Donate some books to your favorite hospice shop.
# FOUR – Offer to babysit for free.
# FIVE – Bake cookies and give them away.
# SIX – Give a complement to a complete stranger.
# SEVEN – Donate old clothes to homeless shelter.
# EIGHT – Offer to wash someone’s car.
# NINE – Tell someone how special and beautiful they are.
# TEN – Make a mix compilation and give to someone you love (add songs that reminds you them).
# ELEVEN – Write a thank you note with an extra-large tip for a waiter.
# TWELVE – Offer to pay for a friend’s part of the bill.
# THIRTEEN – Take flowers to a hospital and give it to someone who has received no visitors.
# FOURTEEN – Write a thank you letter to someone who has made difference in your life and send it.
FIFTEEN – Ask someone “How you can serve them, today?”.
# SIXTEEN – Take pet food and blankets to an animal shelter.
# SEVENTEEN – Hand out chocolates to random strangers.
# EIGHTEEN – Phone someone you haven’t spoken to in a while and ask them how they are doing.
# NINETEEN – Create 5 care packages and hand them out to people in need.
# TWENTY – Make a card for a sick friend and take it to them.
# TWENTY ONE – Place motivational sticky notes in a grocery store.
# TWENTY TWO – Give a friend or family member an unexpected gift.
TWENTY THREE – Bless someone with a hot cup of coffee.
# TWENTY FOUR – Pay for someone’s parking or toll fees.
# TWENTY FIVE – Give a home-cooked meal to someone in need.
# TWENTY SIX – Offer to take a picture for a family that is on holiday.

I am so excited to start practicing kindness and sharing it with the world. My deepest hope is that this list will inspire you to do the same and make a difference in someone’s life – our world needs this!
